Learning Target I can investigate patterns of association in bivariate data by constructing and interpreting scatter plots, knowing that straight lines are widely used to model these relationships, and use a equation of a linear model to solve problems. (MGSE8.SP.1/MGSE8.SP.2/MGSE8.SP.3) Learning Activity Today, you will complete the second of three review assignments in preparation of the unit assessment on Thursday. You will have three (3) attempts at the USA TestPrep assignment, Unit 6 Review – Part 2 (Scatter Plots). Students can check the archive posts on my blog for videos that explain how functions can model relationships. Blog dates are March 23rd to March 30th. Zoom Review Session Today, I will be offering a review session via Zoom at 3:00 p.m. Due to security reasons, I have provided the information you need to join the session on the following link. (Note: You must first login to your CCSD Office 365 Account to access the link.) As always, if you have any questions, send me a message through GroupMe or e-mail me at [email protected].

This week, I will be updating the grade book. I will send a detailed e-mail today outlining which assignments will be included. If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to reply to the e-mail with your questions.
Additionally, I will be providing Unit 6 Review sessions tomorrow (Tuesday), Wednesday, and Thursday via Zoom. All sessions will be at 3:00 p.m. and a link will be provided each day on my blog. Learning Target I can use functions to model relationship between quantities by completing a USA TestPrep assessment on constructing functions, determining rate of change, interpreting rate of change, describing the functional relationship between two quantities, and sketching a graph that features a function. (MGSE8.F.4/MGSE8.F.5) Learning Activity Today, you will complete the first of three review assignments in preparation of the unit assessment on Thursday. You will have three (3) attempts at the USA TestPrep assignment, Unit 6 Review – Part 1 (Functions). You can check the archive posts on my blog for videos that explain how functions can model relationships. Blog dates are March 17th to March 20th. As always, if you have any questions, send me a message through GroupMe or e-mail me at [email protected]. There are no new assignments for today! Please use today to work on missing or incomplete assignments.
This week grades will begin to be posted into the gradebook. I will select at least one assignment per week to grade, so please make sure that you stay on task and submit all your homework in a timely manner. Have a wonderful weekend! Learning Target
I can use functions and two-way tables to model relationships between quantities by investigating the patterns of association of data. (MGSE8.F.4 - 5; MGSE8.SP.1-4) Learning Activity Today you will complete an Unit 6 - Almost There Assessment (ATA) on USA TestPrep in preparation for the end of Unit review next week. You will need to show that you can use functions and two-way tables to model relationships between quantities by investigating the patterns associated with the data. You will have three attempts at completing the ATA. Additionally, the ATA will be available through the weekend. Learning Target I can understand that patterns of association can also be seen in a two-way table and I can construct and interpret a two-way table through a practice worksheet. (MGSE8.SP.4a) Learning Activity Today, you will construct and interpret two-way tables and answer frequency and relative frequency questions on the Two-Way Frequency Table Domain Check worksheet. You can review any previous material, videos or notes to complete the Domain Check. As always, if you have any questions, send me a message through GroupMe or e-mail me at [email protected].
Learning Target I can understand that patterns of association can also be seen in a two-way table and I can construct and interpret a two-way table through a practice worksheet. (MGSE8.SP.4a) Learning Activity Today, we will continue working with Two-Way Tables. As practice for tomorrow's Standard Check, you will complete the following worksheet. It only consists of two problems that require that you either complete a two-way table given the information from a Venn Diagram or complete a Venn Diagram given the information from a two-way table. Afterward, you will need to complete a set of questions for each part. Since this is a practice for tomorrow's assessment, please e-mail me your completed assignment along with questions or concerns, so that I may address them and help you prepare for tomorrow As always, if you have any questions, send me a message through GroupMe or e-mail me at [email protected].
Learning Target I can describe the possible association between two variables by using the relative frequencies calculated for rows and columns of a survey. (MGSE8.SP.4b) Learning Activity Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a restful Spring Break. Today we will continue working with two-way frequency tables. As a refresher, view the following three-part videos to review that patterns can be seen in bivariate categorical data by displaying frequencies and relative frequencies in two-way tables. After reviewing the videos, use your guided notes from Friday, April 3rd, to complete the Halloween Survey worksheet. The worksheet will require you to use the information from a Halloween Survey to create a two-way table, find the frequencies and describe the associations between the variables. Note: If you are unable to download and print out the worksheet, write your answers on a piece of notebook paper. You can submit your work through the Forms submission button below or you can e-mail me your work. As always, if you have any questions, send me a message through GroupMe or e-mail me at [email protected]. Two-Way Frequency TablesTwo-Way Relative Frequency TablesJoint, Marginal, & Conditional Relative FrequencyDigital learning will not occur over Spring Break, which is from April 6th through April 10th.
Food distribution will continue over spring break at all designated sites across Cobb County on Monday, April 6th. Learning Target I can use relative frequencies calculated for rows and columns to describe association between the two variables by completing guided Notes and practice problems. (MGSE8.SP4b) Learning Activity Today you will need to

I can construct a two-way table by summarizing data on two categorical variables that have been collected from the same subjects by completing a Constructing a Two-Way Table CFA. (MGSE8.SP.4a) Learning Activity Today, you will be assessed on your understanding and ability to construct two-way tables by completing a common formative assessment. Download the Constructing a Two-Way Table CFA. Complete the assignment and submit it either using the Forms link below or through e-mail. As always, if you have any questions, send me a message through GroupMe or e-mail me at [email protected]. |
